The Bucharesters riding the subway and who get caught reading a book will be rewarded with a volume under the first edition of the “Book on Subway” campaign jointly run by the Litera publishing house and Metrorex until July 22.
That week, Litera volunteers will be at subway Mainline 2: Pipera – Berceni – Pipera Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 hrs, the publishing house informed in a release.
The volumes offered include a selection of the best titles in the Litera collections: Modern Classics, Contemporary Classics, Agatha Christie, Nobel, Buzz Books Library for All.
Citing a survey conducted on www.iVox.ro, Litera said that the Romanians’ favorite place for reading books is at home (43 percent), followed at a considerable distance by outdoor reading (17 pct) or on the computer (10 pct). The bathroom and transport means are next, far less the libraries, coffee shops or bookstores.
