The films “Sieranevada” by Cristi Puiu and “Dogs” by Bogdan Mirica – screened at the “Anonimul” International Independent Film Festival

The films “Sieranevada” by Cristi Puiu (photo) and “Dogs” by Bogdan Mirica will be screened at the “Anonimul” International Independent Film Festival, held from August 8 to August 14 at Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta.

The action of the film called “Sieranevada” is placed three days after the attack from the premises of the Parisian tabloid Charlie Hebdo and forty days since the death of Lary’s father. The man is going to spend his Saturday at the commemoration of the dead. But the family reunion is not as expected: discussions are tensed and the contradictions quickly appear.

The most recent film signed by Cristi Puiu is starring Mimi Branescu, Judith State, Bogdan Dumitrache, Dana Dogaru, Sorin Medeleni and Ana Ciontea.

“Dogs”, Bogdan Mirica’s debut film, will also be screened at the “Anonimul” Festival in the presence of a part of the staff. Being rewarded with the FIPRESCI Award for the section Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2016, the film tells Roman’s story, a young boy from the city who arrives in an isolated village from Dobrogea, where he plans to sell the inherited land from his grandfather who just died several months ago. While he makes efforts to sell the land, Roman gradually becomes the witness of some strange happenings. The actors starred in the film are Dragos Bucur, Gheorghe Visu and Vlad Ivanov. |Dogs” will be screened on the big screens in Romania starting on September 23.

Paul Negoescu returns to the “Anonimul” Festival with his second feature, “Two Lottery Tickets”, starring Dorian Boguta, Dragos Bucur and Alexandru Papadopol. The film will be launched in the cinemas on October 7.

Shortfilms “Ninel”, directed by Constantin Popescu, and “Bones for Otto”, directed by Matei Lucaci-Grunberg, after a script signed by Lia Bugnar, will also be screened within the Romanian Film Evening.

“Anonimul” 13 will also present films distributed in the Romania cinemas this year: “Illegitimate”, directed by Adrian Sitaru, “Double”, the debut feature of the director Catrinel Danaiata and “Bypass” directed by Nap Toader. The Romanian co-production “The miracle from Tekir” directed by Ruxandra Zenide, as well as 14 Romanian short films, were included in the competitive sections.
