Rock The City 2016 Festival will be held in weekend, on July 29 and 30, with Muse and Iron Maiden headlining. The 7th edition of the festival will take place in Constitution Square from Bucharest and, besides the well-known names, it also suggests two Romanian music bands – FiRMA and Eyedrops. Both of them will perform on July 29 – first Eyedrops, from Bucharest, a band which is a follower of the alternative-indie rock trend. Eyedrops started its career in 2012, remarking until now with the songs “Prezent” and “Bicicleta”, the two singles having also videos that are appreciated online. It’s a group considered to have perspective in the indie zone, and they will release their first album in the autumn. In their lyrics, Eyedrops approach social and spiritual subjects, the obsession of freedom and of the present.
The second Romanian band performing on July 29 is FiRMA, an already well-known name in the alternative rock. FiRMA debuted in 2001 and they produced three studio albums until now, as well as a series of videos intensively aired on the Romanian music channels. Everybody hand only good words regarding the quality of FiRMA music, while the live side of their activity was also unanimously appreciated. The band was nominated for the MTV Romanian Music Awards in 2005, as well as for MTV Europe Music Awards, first in 2004 and then in 2007, at the “New Sounds of Europe” section, when they surpassed Klaxons and Sunrise Avenue.
Therefore, the bands’ entry order on the stage and the gates opening is as follows: on Friday, July 29 / Hates are opened starting at 3.30 pm: Eyedrops (Romania), FiRMA (Romania), Birth of Joy (Netherlands), Muse (UK); on Saturday, July 30 / Gates are opened starting at 5.00 pm: The Raven Age (UK) and Iron Maiden (UK).

The bands Twisted Sister and Volbeat will not perform anymore
Although initially Rock The City Festival, organized by D&D Entertainment, was promoted with Muse, Iron Maiden, Volbeat and Twisted Sister headlining, the concerts of the band Twisted Sister and of the Dutch band Volbeat will not be held anymore.
„Unfortunately, we couldn’t manage to have the third day of the festival. We only have Muse (Birth of Joy, Eyedrops and FiRMA – supporting acts) and Iron Maiden (The Raven Age – supporting act)”, stated the organizers.
Fortunately, the much-awaited bands Muse and Iron Maiden remained on the poster and they will make a splash in Bucharest for sure, in their known style.
