DNA provides information in the ANRP case in which Ioan Oltean was sent to court

Most of the employees in the National Authority for Property Restitution (ANRP) knew who the assignees of litigious rights protected by the deputy Ioan Oltean were, according to the indictment prepared by the anticorruption prosecutors published on Friday.

“The constant presence of the defendant Oltean Ioan to ANRP and his interests as well as the interest of the defendant Dumitrean Crinuta Nicoleta for some of the cases pending before ANRP gradually allowed most of the employees to know who were the assignees protected by the defendant Ioan Oltean. (…) When a compensation case appeared on the name of a protected assignee, the assigning of a consistent compensation and the very quick solution of the file were matters of routine and they were carried out by formally going through the legal steps, so that the approved compensation amount was very high, regardless of how many remarks were in the file, made by the staff from the specialized technical department without decision power, and this amount was established due to the complicity of the assigned assessor”, is mentioned in the indictment.

According to the quoted source, witnesses declared that Ioan Oltean had a great influence on Crinuta Dumitrean, while investigations revealed that they were mutually communicating what activities they were carrying out, on the occasion of their meeting sat the ANRP headquarter.

The statements of the witnesses heard by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) also revealed that Dumitrean was politically assigned as ANRP President, being nominated by the PDL Bistrita-Nasaud organization, which was led by Ioan Oltean.

In this regard, Emi Boc’s statement as witness is relevant, since he was Prime-Minister and PDL President at that time. Boc stated that ANRP President, as all the state secretaries, actually, was politically assigned, and the proposal for Crinuta Dumitrean came from the PDL Bistrita organization.

Deputy Ioan Oltean was indicted by the anticorruption prosecutors along with Crinuta Dumitrean, former ANRP President, in a case regarding over-assessed compensations for a land in Pitesti Municipality, thus causing a damage of almost RON 100 million.

According to a DNA release, Ioan Oltean is accused of complicity to abuse of office with extremely serious consequences if the official has obtained for himself or for another person an undue advantage, while Crinuta Dumitrean is accused of abuse of office with extremely serious consequences.
