Unemployment drops by 0.2pct in Romania in June, 2016, to 568,000 persons

Unemployment in Romania declined 0.2 percent in June 2016, with people aged between 15 and 74 years out of work being estimated at 568,000, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Male unemployment in men was 2 percent higher than female unemployment, 7.3 percent to 5.3 percent.

The estimated 568,000 unemployed as of end-June, 2016 was down from the previous month’s estimates of 581.000 and from June 2015’s estimates of 617.000.

Unemployment among people aged 25 to 74 years was estimated at 5.4 percent for June 2016, 6.2 percent male unemployment and 4.2 percent female unemployment.

The same figures were making up 78.3 percent of the total people out of work in June 2016.
