The number of live births in Romania was 15,230 this June, by 738 more than in May, but the natural population growth was a negative -5,582 as the number of deaths was 20,812, by 199 less than the month before, show data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Wednesday.
The number of infants less than one year of age who died in June was 127, up 3 percent from the month before (when 124 infants less than one year of age died).
On the other hand, 13,625 marriages were registered in June 2016, by 1,118 more than in May 2016, while the number of divorces pronounced under final court rulings and according to Law No. 202/2010 was 2,452, by 266 less than in the previous month.
The number of live births in June 2016 was by 1,003 lower y-o-y and the number of deaths was by 1,409 higher.
According to INS, the natural increase in population was negative in both June 2016 (-5,582 people), and in June 2015 (-3,170 people).
The number of dead infants aged less than 1 year was by 9 lower in June 2016 than in June 2015.
The number of marriages registered in June 2016 was by 3,897 higher than in the same month of 2015, while the number of divorces pronounced under final court rulings and in compliance with Law No. 202/2010 was by 460 less this June than in June 2015.
