One Romanian dead, other 10 injured in Thursday accident in Italy

One Romanian national died and other ten were injured after an accident that occurred on Thursday near the Italian locality of San Severo, the Puglia region, says the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) on Friday in reply at Agerpres’ request.

According to the MAE, the Romanian Consulate in Catania has been informed regarding an accident that involved several Romanian citizens, the representative of the consular office approaching the local authorities to identify the victims and get informed on the injured medical condition.

According to the information released by the Romanian Consulate in Catania, one of the victims is in hospital in serious condition in the ICU, three victims are given a cautious diagnostic, while the other six injured persons are stable.

The consul maintains phone connection with some of the victims’ relatives.

Likewise, Romania’s Consulate in Catania is in permanent contact with the Italian authorities and the hospital units to learn additional data on the injured condition, as they are ready to give consular assistance to both the victims and their families.
