The team which will represent Romania in the current edition of the Paralympic Games is the most numerous in the history of Romanian Paralympic sports, according to a release of the National Authority for the Persons with Disabilities (ANPD).
The team is made up of Hriscu Florentina (discus throw), Cojoc Florin (high jump), Lulea Mihaela (canoe), Serban Iulian (canoe), Novak Eduard (cycling), Olah Attila (cycling), Bologa Alexandru (judo), Ciorap Naomi (swimming), Ciorap Samuel (swimming), Makszin Dacian (table tennis) and Simion Bobi (table tennis).
“We respect and appreciate the effort made, the outstanding labour, the power to self-improve, the determination with which you struggle every day to attain a dream, that of participating and winning medals in national and international sports competitions. To all of us, you are an example and an inspiration source,” ANPD president Mihai Tomescu said.
The 15th edition of the Paralympic Games will be carried out 7-18 September 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the most important sports competition for the persons with disabilities, with athletes from 176 countries participating.
