General elections’ date addressed by PM Ciolos with political parties’ leaders

The date of the general elections due this end-year will be announced as soon as possible, on Wednesday said the government’s spokesman Liviu Iolu.

Iolu added that talks are between Prime minister Dacian Ciolos and the heads of the political parties on the parliamentary elections’s date, as several days: 27 November, 4 December and 11 December are considered.

“The premier has discussed with the political parties’ leaders on the elections’ date. The date is not decided yet, there are still talks with the parties’ heads. (…) The Prime Minister told me there are talks with the parties’ leaders,” Iolu said after the government sitting.

All of the days previously said could be the elections’ date, added Iolu.

“For some of them, at least for 27 November, there is a matter of unconstitutionality the Government is analyzing. The mandates of the current MPs must come to an end by these elections,” the spokesman explained, according to Agerpres.
