European Commissioner Oettinger visits Romania

 European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Gunther H. Oettinger will be meeting Romania’s Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, Minister of Communications and Information Society Delia Popescu and Culture Minister Corina Suteu as part of a visit to Romania, August 25-26, according to the European Commission Representation in Bucharest.

Oettinger will also deliver the opening speech at a high-level conference on digitisation and the future of Europe, organised by the Romanian Ministry of Communications and Information Society for both the public and the private sectors. The European commissioner will also attend a roundtable conference on challenges to Europe generated by the digital economy, money and revolution, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Oettinger will conclude his visit with a conversation with leaders of the Romanian creative industry and a meeting with Romanian filmmakers at the Bucharest Cinema Studio.
