The main goal of the Our Romania Alliance political party is to promote valuable people in all domains, party leader Marian Munteanu said in Craiova on Tuesday.
“Our Romania Alliance is an entirely new political party, an overwhelming share of its members being people who were not previously engaged in politics or who were members of some parties and tried to accomplish something. (…) One of our main goals is to support the promotion of valuable, honest, competent people, authentic patriots. These are the key words: honesty, competence and patriotism. This is what is needed in Romania,” Marian Munteanu said at a press conference.
He announced that his political party has formed a partnership with the Christian Democratic National Peasants’ Party (PNTCD), emphasising that PNTCD President Aurelian Pavelescu will not run in the parliamentary elections “despite being invited [to do so], just like other party personalities.”
In this context, he claimed that the two parties support the same values and from this point of view the partnership was natural.
“In my youth I had the chance to sit alongside Mr. Corneliu Coposu, Ion Ratiu – great Romanian personalities and important PNTCD leaders who came to help without asking for anything. It’s a party that has an important tradition, one that I respect, and that has come to support us. Aurelian Pavelescu was my colleague in faculty,” Munteanu added.
