New Defence Minister Gabriel Les takes over mandate from predecessor Mihnea Motoc

The new Defence Minister, Gabriel Les, has taken over, on Thursday, the mandate from his predecessor Mihnea Motoc during a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the institution, which saw the attendance of the Chief of the Romanian Army General Staff, General Nicolae Ciuca, the heads of the Armed Forces branches and heads of the central structures of the Defence Ministry (MApN).

According to a Thursday release of  the MApN, Les thanked Motoc for the activity he had at the head of the institution and for the way in which they collaborated during Les’ mandate as State Secretary at the Department for Armaments.

“In his turn, Mihnea Motoc stated he is convinced that Minister Les will have a successful mandate at the Defence Ministry, the new minister being already familiar with the issues and major projects of the Ministry,” MApN states.
