Romania will be presented as a travel destination in Austria at the “Ferien Messe 2017” International Tourism Fair, which will take place in the period 12-15 January 2017, in Vienna, the Tourism Ministry informs.

In Romania’s stand there will be present 27 exhibitors, namely incoming agencies, travel destinations and travel service providers. The partner region of Romania’s stand will be Maramures, which will present its travel offer, craftsmen, dances and authentic traditional music. The national company TAROM will be present among the exhibitors.

As a first, a company specialized in equestrian tourism will also present its offer at Romania’s stand in Vienna. The spa tourism will be represented by the Baile Felix resort. Sibiu, Cluj, Timisoara and Oradea will be among Romanian travel destinations represented at the fair, alongside Maramures. Off-road and eco-tourism offers won’t be missing from the stand, both of them being on demand on the profile market in Austria.

Throughout the entire period of the fair in Vienna, Romania will be present daily on the main stage of the fair, performing dances and music from Maramures. Within the promoting campaign of the gastronomic offer, namely on 14 January, Romania will be present with the support of the ADPT Sibiu, in the Genuss section, an area dedicated to gastronomy, with a live-cooking programme. Moreover, Romania will be present each day as a vacation destination within the section titled “Reisekino”, an area of the conference center belonging to the exhibition complex dedicated to multimedia presentations.

The year 2016 brought confirmation of a considerable enhancement of the demand for the motorcycle circuits through Romania. In order to draw attention of the motorcycle fans and to show that Romania is a welcoming country for this type of tourism, this year also, at the “Ferien Messe” Fair stand a Harley Davidson motorcycle will be displayed, which will be framed by images of Austrian tourists cruising on their motorcycle on Transalpina road.

In the first 11 months of 2016 Romania was visited by a number of 57,259 Austrian tourists, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Austria being ranked on the 21st place among countries sending tourists to Romania.
