GEO on the Government’s organization, favorable opinion from the Legal Committee of the Chamber of Deputies

On Wednesday, the Legal Committee of the Chamber of Deputies gave favorable opinion to the Government Emergency Ordinance (GEO) on the Government’s organization.

The Emergency Ordinance for establishing measures in the field of the public central administration and for amending and completing certain legal regulations provides changes in the Grindeanu Government’s structure, including new ministries – Tourism Ministry, the Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Water and Forests, the Environment Ministry, the Ministry for Romanians from Everywhere, according to Agerpres.

The legal document also provides the dissolution of PM’s Chancellery, a structure without legal personality subordinated to the PM, which will be included into the General Secretariat of the Government and PM’s own Working Apparatus.

“Inside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs there will be established the Department of European Affairs, as a specialized body, with legal personality, funded through the Ministry’s budget, having attributions related to coordinating European Affairs at the national level, and it will be coordinated by the Minister Delegate”, provides the Ordinance.

According to the legal document, other ministries are reorganized and its title is changed – the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of the National Education, the Ministry of the Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds.

The Administrative Committee of the Chamber of Deputies will prepare a report for this GEO.
