Liviu Dragnea in the US: Good discussion with future national security adviser in new Trump administration

Deputies’ Chamber Speaker Liviu Dragnea, Social Democrats’ leader, pointed out on Wednesday that he had in the US “a very good informal discussion” with Michael Flynn (photo R), the future national security adviser in the new Trump administration, on which occasion he assured him that the current Government of Bucharest will keep Romania’s commitment of allotting 2 percent of the GDP to Defence.

“Today I had a very good informal discussion with Mr Michael Flynn, the future national security adviser in the new Trump administration. We have talked about the excellent prospects of the strategic partnership between Romania and the United States and the fact that national security and stability represent two essential factors for the development and prosperity of a nation. I assured him that the current Government in Bucharest will keep Romania’s commitment of allotting 2 percent of the GDP to Defence, and he confirmed the special interest the US has in Romania and the desire of the new US administration of developing the partnership with our country,” Liviu Dragnea wrote on Facebook.

 

PSD leader  meets  Chairman of House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of House of Representatives

 

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and leader of Social-Democrats, Liviu Dragnea, had a meeting in the United States with the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on dragnea-david nunesIntelligence from House of Representatives, Devin Nunes, on which occasion he assured him that Romania will continue to be involved at the same level in the fight against terrorism.

“I had yesterday a discussion to the point with Mr Devin Nunes, the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from House of Representatives of the United States of America. The discussed topics regarded the fight against terrorism and the common threats that regard our states, in the context of very firm messages sent on this matter by the President-elect Donald Trump. I have assured him that Romania will continue to be involved at the same level, and he has expressed his appreciation on the way the collaboration between the USA and our country has evolved in this regard”, Dragnea specified on Thursday in a Facebook post.

 

Meeting with the chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs: I had chance to meet a good friend of Romania

 

dragnea-ed royceWhile in Washington D.C., Liviu Dragnea had also a meeting with the chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs, on which occasion he assured him that Romania will continue to be a trust pillar of transatlantic relations.

“Yesterday (e.n. – Wednesday) I had the chance to meet a good friend of Romania in the United States: the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the House of Representatives, Mr Ed Royce. It was a pleasant discussion about the Romanian-US relations. Mr Royce has underscored Romania’s seriousness confirmed across time in many difficult moments. In my turn, I have sent him Romania’s attachment towards the Strategic Partnership with the US, as well the engagement of the Government in Bucharest to develop the political and economic relations between the two countries. I have also assured Mr Royce that Romania will continue to be a trust pillar of transatlantic relations”, Dragnea specified in a Facebook post.
