Number of insolvencies decrease 18.48pct last year

A number of 8,371 of companies entered insolvency last year, decreasing 18.48pct from 2015, according to the data of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).

Most of such cases were registered in Bucharest Municipality, namely 1,771 (-2.48pct compared to the period January-December 2015), the Capital being followed by Bihor county, with 422 (+2.3pct), and Timis county with 406 (+17.81pct). Depending on the activity sector, most of the insolvencies were registered in the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, namely, 2,555, decreasing 24.03pct from previous year.

Likewise, 15,918 firms suspended their activity, the number being lower 10.06pct compared to last year, the Capital being on top in this chapter with 2,260 companies (-0.92pct).

In what regards dissolvings, they raised 6.99pct in 2016, to 29,923 of such cases, with most of the cases 6,590 (+20.15pct) also being registered in Bucharest.
