One of two Romanian nationals injured in the London terror attack on Wednesday afternoon is still in hospital in a serious medical state, while the other one has been discharged. MAE said Thursday in a press statement.
MAE says that immediately after the attack and the transfer of the injured Romanian nationals to the hospital for care, an official of the task force set up at the Romanian diplomatic mission in London urgently travelled to the hospital to inquire into the victims’ medical state and to provide consular assistance.
“We want to inform that one of two injured Romanian nationals is still in hospital in a serious medical state, while the other, with minor injuries, was discharged. Romania’s Embassy to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is keeping in permanent touch with the family of the person in a serious medical state. The diplomatic mission continues to monitor the case, keeping in touch with the medical facility, the family of the injured and local authorities, being ready to provide consular assistance upon request,” says MAE.

President Iohannis: I am beside Romanians injured in terrible London attack and all those affected
President Klaus Iohannis conveys that he is beside the Romanians injured in the London attack, which he labels are terrible.
“I am beside the Romanians injured in the terrible London attack and all those affected,” Iohannis wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening.
He sends condolences to the victims’ families.
“RO solidary with UK,” Iohannis concludes.
Gov’t: PM Grindeanu is being permanently informed about health condition of Romanians injured in terrorist attack in London
Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu is being permanently informed about the health condition of Romanians injured in the terrorist attack in London, the Government informs.
“The Prime Minister of Romania is permanently informed about the health status of Romanians injured in the terrorist attack in London. This evening the PM had conversations over the phone with the Ambassador of Romania to the UK, who informed him in relation with the demarches made by the embassy in order to support the affected Romanians. We express our solidarity with the British people and Government, and we firmly condemn any terrorist act,” reads a message published on Wednesday evening on the official Facebook page of the Gov’t.
The Foreign Affairs Minister previously announced that “from the most recent pieces of information coming from the local authorities two persons of Romanian citizenship have been identified as being injured” following the attack in London. They were taken into hospitals around the area in order to be given medical assistance.
Three people, among whom a policemen have died and at least another 20 persons have been injured on Wednesday afternoon in the attack in London that occurred outside the British Parliament and according to the Police, the attacker was killed, the Agence France-Press (AFP) reported.
