Deputies’ Chamber: Draft law to revise Constitution on redefining family- adopted in plenary

The plenary meeting of the Deputies’ Chamber adopted on Monday, on articles, the bill regarding the revision of the Constitution which stipulates that families are funded on the freely consented marriage between a man and a woman.

In the current form, the Constitution stipulates that the family is founded on the freely consented marriage of the spouses.

The Deputies of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) and the People’s Movement Party (PMP) stated they will endorse this draft law.

The draft law will be submitted to the final vote in the plenary meeting of the Deputies’ Chamber that is to take place on Tuesday.
