President Klaus Iohannis participates on Thursday in the European People’s Party (EPP) Summit to take place in Valletta, the Republic of Malta, the Presidential Administration informs.
According to a release, President Klaus Iohannis will hold a speech in the second session of the EPP Congress, to be attended by about 1,500 persons, among whom prime ministers and heads of state of EU member states, as well as presidents of European institutions.
Moreover, the head of state will also participate in the EPP Summit in extended format, where the main discussion themes will be the Western Balkans and Brexit.
On the sidelines of the EPP Summit, President Klaus Iohannis will have a meeting with Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, with the talks going to be aimed at topical issues on the EU agenda, Brexit, as well as the bilateral relations between Romania and Malta.
At the same time, the head of state will also have a meeting with Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko.
“The talks will be particularly be aimed at the prospects of consolidating the bilateral relations between the two states, as well as the European bid of Ukraine,” the Presidential Administration informs.
