Klaus Iohannis congratulates Serbia’s President-elect

President Klaus Iohannis conveyed on Tuesday a congratulatory message to Serbian President-elect Aleksandar Vucic on his win in the April 2 election.

“On my own and on the Romanian people’s behalf I convey warm congratulations for your victory in Serbia’s recent presidential election. I would also like to offer the best wishes of success in fulfilling your future mandate. I am convinced that Romania – Serbia relations will continue to grow and progress will be made in all areas of joint interest for our countries. We want to capitalize together on the wide potential of bilateral cooperation, including from the perspective of security and stability in the region,” said the head of the state in his message, as the Presidential Administration informs.

President Iohannis gave assurances that Romania will further strongly support Serbia’s efforts towards European integration.

The President of Romania also expressed confidence that political dialogue will improve, also underpinned by the contribution of the national minorities in the two countries.
