Former Justice Minister Florin Iordache was elected on Tuesday as Vice President of the Deputies’ Chamber by the plenum of the Chamber, with 211 “pros” and 77 “cons”; the seat remained vacant after Rovana Plumb’s appointment as Minister-delegate for the European Funds.
The vote was secret, with balls.
Florin Iordache, former JusMin, the initiator of the GEO 13 which caused street protests, has been proposed by the PSD parliamentary group to hold the vacant position of the Vice President of the Deputies’ Chamber.
The position remained vacant after Rovana Plumb’s appointment as Minister-delegate for European Funds.
Florin Iordache resigned from the position of the Justice Minister on February 9, after the street protests caused by adopting the GEO 13 on amending the Criminal Codes, whose initiator he was.
Florin Iordache was the Vice President of the Deputies’ Chamber before; he resigned in January, after he was appointed as the Justice Minister.
