Vodafone Romania customers will be able to use voice and data benefits in roaming, with no extra charges

  • Benefits consisting of national minutes and data, included in the subscriptions and extra-options to prepaid cards can also be used in roaming within the European Economic Area
  • Vodafone is a global leader on the 4G roaming services segment



For the first time, Vodafone Romania, the leader on the 4G roaming services, provides to the individual customers who are users of subscriptions and prepaid cards, the opportunity to use with no extra charges, the national benefits consisting in minutes and data in the countries of the European Economic Area, formed by all of the EU countries and Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway. The offer is part of the campaign by which the operator celebrates 20 years in Romania, and it is available for new customers and for those who renew their subscriptions starting at EUR 10, as well as for those who activate extra-options to the prepaid cards starting at EUR 8. Incoming calls received by the Vodafone Romania subscribers in roaming, within the European Economic Area, will also be free.

The most recent portfolio of subscriptions for companies launched by Vodafone Romania also provides the possibility to use, with no extra-charge, the benefits of the minutes and data included in the countries of the European Economic Area, too, and thus Vodafone Romania is facilitating communication in roaming for all of the 8.7 million of mobile users.

Vodafone is the incontestable leader on the international 4G roaming services segment, according to a report prepared by the independent research global company Ovum. The survey shows that, in most of the markets surveyed, Vodafone provides 4G roaming in more than 100 destinations, which is more than double of the number of destinations provided by the other operators. Throughout the whole year of 2017, Vodafone Romania is celebrating 20 years, by a series of initiatives dedicated to the customers, and the special offer on the roaming services for individual customers is the most recent. The brand Vodafone is present on the Romanian market since 2005, when it acquired Connex, which launched its services in 1997. Throughout its history on the local market, the operator has primarily invested in innovation, being the first who provided GPRS services (in 2001), and later 3G services (in 2005) and 4G services (in 2012). The launch of the first Customer Service (in 1997), of the first corporate foundation (in 1998), of the short messages service – SMS – and of the data and fax services (in 1998), as well as of the first service of automatic recognition of speech (in 2014) are some of the premiers marked by Vodafone Romania on the telecommunications market in our country.
