Ambassador Klemm: I encourage president Trump to visit Romania

US Ambassador to Bucharest, Hans Klemm declared on Wednesday in Botosani, that he will encourage the new American president, Donald Trump, to visit Romania.

The Head of American diplomacy in Romania said that a visit of the American President in our country would be “a great achievement”.

It’s been a long time since a US president came here and it would be a great achievement if this should happen. I would really like to encourage the new president to visit Romania. I do not know if this will happen, but I keep my fingers crossed for that, stated Klemm, who had a meeting with the local public administration in northern Botosani on Wednesday.

The US ambassador specified that the Romanian authorities have launched an official invitation to Donald Trump, but the final decision belongs to the head of the White House.

Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu stated on Tuesday that he has no information on a possible visit to Romania of the US president, Donald Trump, and that he can neither confirm nor deny such information.

“I don’t have any such information and I do not want to speculate. (…) I communicated the things that are official. (…) I cannot confirm or deny,” said Grindeanu in a conference press, organized at the Renault Technical Center in Titu.
