At a meeting of April 5, 2017, the Administration Board of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) decided the to keep unchanged the monetary policy rate at 1.75 percent per annum to maintain the existing levels of minimum reserve requirement ratios on both leu- and foreign currency-denominated liabilities of credit institutions, according to a press statement released by BNR on Wednesday.
The board also decided to pursue adequate liquidity management in the banking system.
BNR’s monetary policy rate has been kept unchanged since May 2015.
