The Interim President of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Raluca Turcan, stated on Wednesday that PSD-ALDE, “hand in hand with UNPR”, cannot help to “hackle” the Criminal Code, mentioning that through the amendments brought by the Legal Committee, they propose that “nobody will be sanctioned for conflict of interest” or a similar deed.
“I see that PSD-ALDE, hand in hand with UDMR, cannot help to hackle the Criminal Code, piece by piece. They are incorrigible! They are decided to really remove <<the conflict of interest>> from the criminal law, by the amendments approved by the Legal Committee of the Deputies’ Chamber” PNL Interim President, Raluca Turcan, stated on Facebook.
Raluca Turcan claims that by the amendments brought to the Article no.301 of the Criminal Code, regulating “the conflict of interest”, no one can be further sanctioned for conflict of interest or for a similar deed.
“The text which they put in place is a simulacrum, it is impossible to be applied, namely a regulation which has the same consequence either if it exists or if it doesn’t. Specifically, the <<great>> majority proposes today that no one will be sanctioned for conflict of interest or for a similar deed. The pending cases will remain unsolved, because the deed for which the investigations were made doesn’t exist anymore” Turcan added.
Raluca Turcan claims that CCR didn’t ask anywhere the removal of the conflict of interest.
“Of course the pretext is <<to harmonize the laws with the CCR decisions>>. The reality is, as in the case of the GEO 13, that CCR didn’t ask anywhere the removal of the conflict of interest. They worked at night then, now they work during the day, only that they make small steps, against the judiciary” Turcan concluded.
The deputies in the Legal Committee adopted on Tuesday a draft law amending Articles 301 and 308 of the Criminal Code, replacing the phrase “Conflict of interest” with “Using the position in order to favor certain persons” and removing the reference to Article 301, which existed in Article 308.
