Romania’s 2016 exports of wooden articles exceeds 1 billion euros

Romania’s 2016 exports of wooden articles (furniture excluded) totalled 1.05 billion euros, up 1.8 percent from 2015, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Imports of wooden articles reached 408.4 million euros, up 15.7 percent from 2015, which gave a trade surplus of nearly 642 million euros.

Romania’s 2016 FOB exports totalled 57.386 billion euros, up 5.1 percent from the year before, while CIF imports stood at 67.344 billion euros, up 7 percent. The FOB-CIF trade deficit reached 9.958 billion euros, widening by 1.592 billion euros from 2015.
