Romania’s President Iohannis sends condolences following Stockholm terror attack

President Klaus Iohannis on Monday sent a message of condolence to Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf following the Stockholm terror attack last Friday.

“I want to extend, on my behalf and on behalf of Romania my heart-felt condolences to the families of the victims and wish speedy recovery to the injured, among whom there is a Romanian national. In these times of tribulations, I want to express the full solidarity of Romania and the Romanian nation with Sweden and its entire people. I am strongly condemning such cruel actions against innocent people, and I want to assure you that Romania will remain a determined and committed partner of Sweden in the fight against terror,” reads the presidential message.

Two Swedes, one Britton and one Belgian were killed in the Friday terror attack in the capital city of Sweden, and 15 more people were injured, according to the local police. International news agencies say the attacker was a refugee whose asylum application had been denied.
