Senate’s Tariceanu at Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments, on April 23 and 24 in Bratislava

Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu will participate on April 23 and 24 in Bratislava, in the Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments.

Tariceanu was invited to the meeting by the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Danko.

The agenda of the conference includes the current situation of the Maltese presidency of the EU Council and its parliamentary size, the future of the EU as a global player in the context of current global trends and the role of national parliaments and the closeness to the citizens of the parliamentary agenda in the modern era – the best practices exchange, reads an internal memorandum approved on Tuesday by the Senate’s Standing Bureau.

According to the memorandum, the managing director of the General Directorate of the Senate’s External Parliamentary Cooperation, Cristian Buzea and the head of the European Affairs Department, Petronela Dobrin will attend the conference.
