Olympus Romania appoints Athanasios Giannousis as a Commercial Director

Olympus Romania, one of the biggest players on the local dairy market, announces the appointment of Athanasios Giannousis as a Commercial Director, position from which he will lead the company’s development plans in Romania. Athanasios Giannousis replaces Ilias Pliatsikas, who will continue to be part of the Olympus-Tyras Group in Greece.

Athanasios Giannousis comes with over nine years of experience in the FMCG international industry, having previously held management positions both in Olympus Greece and in Romania as Managing Director and Sales Director. His career and his successful projects include the identification of new market opportunities, product innovations and product development, and the management of the sales operations.

With a strong presence on the Romanian market, Olympus has entered a new stage of development that requires confidence and maintains and at the same time, the highest standards of the consumers experience”, said Stergios Sourlis, Commercial Director – International Markets, Olympus-Tyras Group.

Athanasios Giannousis will take over the duties of the commercial director previously held by Ilias Pliatsikas, who will occupy a new strategic position within the group in Greece.

“I am proud that I have contributed to the Olympus Romania positioning as one of the most important players in the dairy industry in Romania, and after six years of pursuing our mission of delivering high quality dairy products to the consumers, I will continue this from a strategic role within the group. I am confident that Olympus Romania will continue its expansion at the local level, I wish all the best to Athanasios in its new role”, said Ilias Pliatsikas.

Also, as a result of Ilias Pliatsikas’s departure to Greece, Athanasoulas Georgios is the managing director of Olympus Romania, who will lead the development plans of the factory and production. With more than 16 years of experience in industry, Georgios has previously held the position of production manager and acquisitions in other factories in the group in Greece.
