2017 Q1 budget posts 1.52 billion lei surplus, representing 0.19pct of GDP

The execution of the general consolidated budget in the first three months of 2017 ended with a 1.52 billion lei surplus, representing 0.19 percent of the GDP, the Public Finance Ministry (MFP) informs on Tuesday.

In comparison, in 2016 Q1, the general consolidated budget registered a 3 billion lei surplus, namely 0.4 percent of the GDP, according to the MFP data released last year.

In 2017 Q1, the revenues of the general consolidated budget, totalling 59.53 billion lei and representing 7.3 percent of the GDP, were 7.1 percent higher, in nominal terms, from the same period of 2016.
