The current absorption rate of the European funds on the 2007-2013 financial framework increased by 6.15 percentage points, to 89.08 percent, while the actual absorption rate remained at the same level in March, shows data published on the dedicated website fonduri-ue.ro.
The eligible expenditures requested to the European Commission within the allocation of the Operational Programmes accounted for over 16.72 billion euros. While the actual absorption remained at the same level as in the previous month, namely to 79.23 percent (14.88 billion euros).
The current absorption rate was 100 percent under the Sectoral Operational Programme Increase in Economic Competitiveness; 100 percent under the Operational Programme Technical Assistance; 84.48 percent under the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment; 93.41 percent under the Regional Operational Programme; 90.81 percent under the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development ; 81.07 percent under the Sectoral Operational Programme Transport; and 100 percent under the Sectoral Operational Programme Development of Administrative Capacity.
Authorities estimate an absorption rate of the European funds of 85 percent of the EU allocation on the 2007-2013 financial framework, shows a presentation revealed on 3 March by the Deputy Director General Gabriel Friptu of the General Department for Programmes, SMIS, System Coordination and European Programmes Evaluation with the Ministry of Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds.
