Ambassador Maior hosts dinner party dedicated to 20 years of Romania – USA Strategic Partnership

Romania’s ambassador in Washington D. C., George Cristian Maior was the host on Thursday night of a special dinner party with several Republican members of the U. S. House of Representatives, dedicated to the anniversary of 20 years of Romanian-American strategic partnership, on Friday informs Romania’s Embassy to the U.S.A., in a press release.

During the talks, an overall assessment of the said partnership was made, “as it was emphasised the very tight level of the cooperation on the security dimension, the recent developments in the economic, trade and investment fields, as well as the representative contents of the cultural, academic relations,” says the release.

George Cristian Maior assessed that “the 20 years of working together have confirmed it that the United States of America does not have a better, closer partner in the South-East European region than Romania.”

In their turn, the U. S. officials expressed the appreciation of the U. S. Congress and Administration for the developments and progresses recorded at the Romanian-American bilateral cooperation’s level, developments that have defined Romania – which is appreciated as a real example of democratic transformation and strengthening, of responsibility in ensuring the Euro-Atlantic security and of promoting the values of creativity, free initiative and competitiveness in the economic field – as a strong partner of the United States of America.
