ANOFM: Over 70,000 persons employed in Jan.-Mar. – 33 pct aged over 45

Over 70,00 persons were employed through the national workforce employment program in the first 3 months of 2017, most of them, namely 35 percent, being older than 45, according to the data of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

Out of the total of 70,941 persons employed, a number of 23,489 are older than 45 (33 percent), 19,566 are aged between 35 and 47 (27 percent), 16,919 are in the 25-35 age bracket (23 percent) and 10,967 are youngsters under 25 (15 percent).

Most of them are residing in urban areas, namely 38,679 (54 percent) and 32,262 reside in rural areas (45 percent).

According to the previous months, most of the people employed are male, namely 41,300.

The education level of people employed reveals that most of them completed high school education (22,076), 18,904 are vocational education graduates, 15,770 completed secondary school and 8,048 graduated university.

The counties with most people employed are Timis (5,595), Bucharest (4,958), Suceava (4,019), Hunedoara (3,360) and Neamt (3,307).

“Therefore, in the period between January-March 2017, a number of 163,150 persons were included in active measures; 110,826 benefited from mediation in order to get employed on one of the vacant jobs reported by the employers at the territorial agency for labour force, 90,332 benefited from informing and counseling, 83 benefited from consultancy and assistance for starting an independent activity or a business,” according to the ANOFM.
