“Invest in Romania”, the third edition, was held in Prahova

An important place on the country’s map in economic terms, Prahova County was assigned, at the end of April, to be the host of “Invest in Romania”.

The third edition of the event “invest in Romania”, a national event, was held on April 28, 2017, in Prahova, at the “Lumina Verde” Business Center in Ploiesti.

The event was organized by the National Council for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Romania, in partnership with the Department for Promoting Foreign investments of the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, and with the support of the Prahova County Council. Besides the leadership of the County Council and of the Prahova Prefect institution, the event was attended by the Ploiesti Mayor, representatives of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship and of the National Council for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Romania, business men, representatives of the diplomatic environment accredited in our country, economic counselors of the Romanian embassies, representatives of the county councils, mayors and local representatives.

The main goal of the event was, on the one hand, to identify the investment opportunities at regional level, and on the other hand, to stimulate the investment attraction in order to develop the business environment at national level and to establish transnational partnerships. This was confirmed also on the occasion of this event, given that organizers wished to mention, in their speeches, that the objectives of this program are mainly to attract investments and to promote export, to support and promote priority projects established at national and regional level in the direction of the areas that are deemed to be strategic for investments, such as energy, mineral resources, tourism, agriculture, industry and infrastructure, in compliance with the National Strategy for Competitiveness 2014-2020.

“<<Invest in Romania>> is our natural answer, the answer of the National Council for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Romania. This idea was approved by our leading body, after one of th producers in the Buzau region, when the event <<Entrepreneur’s Day>> was held in Buzau, came to me and asked me how can we help him to export his products in USA. Therefore, we thought which would be the most efficient way to directly connect Romanian businessmen with foreign economic from abroad in our country” stated Florin Jianu, President of the National Council for Small and medium Sized Enterprises in Romania. In his turn, Ilan Laufer, State Secretary in the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, stated: “Romania has a huge potential to become a very attractive area for the foreign investors, as well as for the development of our Romanian capital. If we look at what is happening with the countries that are more developed than us, especially in West, we’ll see that they also have to face the problem of the workforce they have. And from this perspective, Romania still has the ability to provide high quality workforce, with a high preparation, compared to the payment level which those who wish to invest in Romania have to assume”.

We mention that the unicity of the event entitled “Invest in Romania” is given by the fact that for the first time at an event dedicated to the business environment, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to directly interact with the economic attachés of Romania in UK, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Turkey, USA, Greece, France, etc., as it happened at the edition held in Ploiesti. They made available data related to the economic characteristics of the various markets to those who were interested, providing details both on the export opportunities for the Romanian companies and on the existing trends for certain activity sectors in the countries they represent.
