U.S. ambassador Klemm visits Corvinilor Castle in Hunedoara

U.S. ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm on Friday paid a private visit to the Corvinilor Castle of the western Hunedoara County, praising the medieval monument and several halls of the edifice.

The ambassador of the United States of America was welcomed at the castle by Hunedoara City mayor Dan Boboutanu and manager of the Corvinilor Castle Cristian Roman.

According to the statement to Agerpres by the City Hall’s spokeswoman, Elena Iancau, the ambassador liked the entire historical monument appreciating among other things, the Diet Assembly and the Knights’ halls.

In the dialogue with the American diplomat, the mayor of Hunedoara spoke about the fact that the municipality has made it to win a EUR 5 million project with European financing which will make it possible to restore a large part of the castle.

The U. S. ambassador was eventually invited to return to Hunedoara on an official visit.
