Political priorities of future Romanian Presidency of the EU Council to be discussed in Iohannis-Juncker meeting

President Klaus Iohannis will welcome on Thursday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to discuss the EU future and the political priorities of the future Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

“The discussions will tackle priority topics on the agenda of the next meetings of the European Council, as well as the reflection process on the future of the European Union and the negotiations related to the UK exiting the Union. Also approached will be aspects of the political priorities of the future Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which Romania will hold in the first semester of 2019,” a Presidential Administration release reads.

Jean-Claude Juncker will be paying a visit to Romania on Thursday, at the invitation of President Klaus Iohannis. On this occasion, the EC President will participate in a reception offered by the Romanian head of state to celebrate Europe Day.
