Motor vehicles trade up 21.1 pct in March 2017 against March 2016

The turnover volume of the trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles rose, as gross series, by 21.1 pct in March 2017 as compared to March 2016, while in the market services for the population, business increased by 11.1 pct, reads a press release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Friday.

“In March, 2017 as compared to March 2016, the turnover volume for wholesale and retail trade, the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, as gross series, increased by 21.1 pct due to increases recorded in the maintenance and repair of vehicles (+ 32.2 pct), the vehicles spare parts and related accessories trade (+ 20.5 pct), motor vehicles trade (+ 19.1 pct), and the trade with motorcycles spare parts and accessories and the maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+ 2.8 pct),” reads the document.

The turnover volume of the wholesale and retail trade and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, as series adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonality registered an overall rise by 18.5 pct in March 2017 against March 2016.

At the same time, the turnover of market services rendered to the population activity, as gross series, was by 11.1 pct higher in March 2017 as compared to March 2016, coming from gambling and other recreational activities (+ 18.6pct), the activities of tourist agencies and tour operators (+9.4 pct), the activities of hotels and restaurants (+8.5 pct) and activities of washing, cleaning and dyeing of textiles and furs (+ 6 cpt). Hairdressing and other beautifying activities recorded drops (-6.2 pct).

The activities of the market services provided to the population, as series adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonality, increased by 8.8 pct in march 2017 against March 2016.
