Seven counties were affected by rains and floods, 69 people were evacuated in the counties of Neamt, Vaslui and Bacau, dozens of roads, houses, gardens and yards were flooded, thousands of houses in 11 localities were left without electricity, the Interior Ministry announced on Sunday.
According to the IntMin, counties of Cluj, Bacau, Bihor, Iasi, Neamt, Satu Mare and Vaslui were affected by rains and floods. Firefighters and policemen intervened to preventively evacuate 69 people, of which 33 people are from the county of Neamt, 33 from Vaslui and three from Bacau, being accommodated in the premises made available by the local authorities or by their relatives.
Following the floods, firefighters, policemen and teams of volunteers intervened to remove the water from houses, gardens and yards, to clear the fountains and to remove the alluvium from the roads.
Eleven localities were left without electricity for several hours, 3,175 consumers being affected. On Sunday morning, six localities still didn’t have electricity, in the counties of Bistrita-Nasaud, Bacau and Galati, and 2,041 consumers still were affected.
Following the floods, nobody wasn’t blocked on the national and county roads, and no medical emergencies where medical crews couldn’t reach were registered.
The air, rail, sea and river traffic was normal on Sunday, and no restrictions were established on the border crossings because of the rains and floods.
In the last 24 hours, more than 600 firefighters and policemen intervened in the affected counties, with around 270 technical means, being helped by the volunteer services for emergency situations.
After code red and code orange of floods have been issued, the intervention crews of the county inspectorates for emergency situations of the counties of Bacau, Galati, Neamt, Suceava, Timis and Vaslui, have been activated.
For the interventions after the floods in the counties of Bacau and Vaslui, crews with high-capacity motorized pumps and trucks have been sent in the counties of Harghita, Galati, Buzau and Covasna.
The Interior Ministry provided the connection with the other institutions represented in the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations. The forecasts and flood warnings have also been sent to the authorities, in order to take the necessary measures.
