Liviu Dragnea: Serban Nicolae wasn’t sanctioned, I hope he will not leave the party; there are many people criticizing PSD

PSD President Liviu Dragnea stated on Friday, during a visit in the Ialomita County, that the Social Democrat Senator Serban Nicolae wasn’t sanctioned, which is why he hopes that he will not leave the party. Dragnea wished to mention that there are many people criticizing PSD, because it is a party that bothers, but Social Democrats will continue to “struggle”.

“Serban Nicolae wasn’t sanctioned, I hope Serban Nicolae will not leave the party. It is a big party, otherwise we would be bored. However, he is not the only one, there are many people criticizing and attacking PSD, it’s a party that bothers. But there’s no problem, we’ll struggle this way, we will keep going with these criticisms, too” Liviu Dragnea stated.

PSD President Liviu Dragnea stated on Wednesday, at the end of the National Executive Committee’s meeting, that the Social Democrat Senator Serban Nicolae supported the amendment son the pardon of the corruption deeds and he convinced his colleagues in the Legal Committee to vote for them, even they weren’t agreed by the party, which is why it was natural to remove him from the committee’s leadership and from the position of the group leader.

“There was this mistrust and lack of communication, this lack of will to communicate between the party President, the party’s leadership, and the group leader, it appeared this natural proposal to remove the group leader and to politically support Mr. Mihai Fifor. Also, as long as our colleagues who adopted in the Legal Committee of the Senate amendments not supported by the party that proposed them, the Chairman of the Legal Committee was also removed. This is not about the freedom of opinion, the freedom of the vote, but Mr. Serban Nicolae, in his capacity of the Chairman of the Legal Committee, went there with the party’s political support, and he agreed, he supported and he convinced his party colleagues to support amendments that weren’t supported by the party” explained the PSD leader.
