Several hundred people have participated on Saturday in the March of Diversity, demonstrating against any discrimination and for the LGBT rights.
The participants, dressed eccentrically were dancing and wearing balloons, hats, umbrellas and multicoloured flags.
On the placards they have written messages in favour of diversity and against discrimination.
“Different but equal,” “Justice for the victims of Article 200,” “Rights are not voted on,” “Dear Coalition, we do not give up. We fight, we resist, we love!” – are just a few of the messages displayed.
In front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the participants held a minute of silence for “victims in Chechnya.”
ACCEPT President Florin Buhuceanu said that the March of Diversity is at its thirteenth edition, becoming a tradition.
“We go out in the street because this society needs to know that we exist, that we are claiming our rights as any citizen of Romania. By drawing the line we have managed to organise the most important march for human rights, this year the main theme will be the right to a private life and family, given the attempts to restrict these rights in the constitutional text,” Buhuceanu said.
The demonstration was carried out under the supervision of gendarmes, with troopers also present.
….BINE alliance organizes Normalcy March against Diversity March
Approximately 200 persons have participated on Saturday in the Normalcy March, organised by the BINE (Bloc of National Identity in Europe) political alliance, “in the support of the Christian traditional family values.”
Some of the protesters were holding a 20-metre tricolour flag, while other participants were waving tricolour flags and flags of the parties the New Right, Great Romania and United Romania.
The BINE political alliance, made up of the three parties, supports the values of the traditional family and protests against the Diversity March which it regards as “a manifestation with an obscene and provocative nature that promotes each year the idea of gay marriages and child adoptions by ‘gay couples.’
