Romania’s annual inflation rate stood at 0.9 percent in June, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), above the forecast of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), namely of 0.6 percent.
“Consumer prices in June 2017 increased by 0.9 percent compared to June 2016. The average rate of consumer prices over the last 12 months (July 2016 – June 2017) compared to the previous 12 months (July 2015 – June 2016) calculated based on the CPI (consumer price index) is -0.1 percent. The average rate determined based on the CPI stands at 0.2 percent,” the INS informed on Tuesday.
The National Bank of Romania estimate for the end of June an inflation of 0.6 percent, with an uncertainty interval of +/-0.5 percent. The BNR goal is 2.5 percent, +/-1.1 percentage point.
