Sorin Grindeanu is still president of PSD Timis despite being excluded from the party

Ex-Premier Sorin Grindeanu is still president of the PSD Timis branch, even though PSD’s Executive Committee decided to exclude him from the party. The leadership of PSD Timis says that for the time being the party branch has not received any decision concerning Grindeanu’s exclusion.

PSD Timis Secretary General Adrian Negoita stated on Thursday, for News.ro, that Sorin Grindeanu will remain party member and president of the county branch until the branch receives an official document concerning his exclusion from the party.

“Until a decision arrives, Sorin Grindeanu is PSD member and president of the party at county level,” Adrian Negoita said.

Asked whether he can estimate, based on prior experiences, how long would it take for an official party membership cancellation document to arrive, Negoita said it could take years.

“Fortunately, we have no experiences within the PSD Timis branch, but in the party there’s the case of Catalin Ivan, who was excluded two years ago but nothing is official, not even now,” Negoita stated.
