President Iohannis: Economic growth via unprepared measures will not attain stability and predictability objective

President Klaus Iohannis stated on Saturday, referring to the Government’s economic measures, that they should not be “unprepared” or poorly prepared, because if they are the objective of being stable and predictable would not be attained, emphasising that the business sector and the citizens want to know the state’s fiscal plans.

“No special step must be taken and the wheel doesn’t have to be reinvented. (…) We need stability and we need predictability. These frequent changes of strategic approach in the fiscal field are not doing anyone any good, not to mention they cannot be implemented in a very brief time,” Iohannis said.

He pointed out that the business sector, as well as the “common man,” wants to know what the state wants and how the state will do it. “This means stability and predictability,” he explained.

Iohannis warned that these objectives cannot be attained “through unprepared or poorly prepared measures.”

“Predictability, stability, these must be guaranteed; regardless of who governs, of what their approach is, these things must prevail,” the Head of State said.
