Firea: Full access travel cards to be implemented as of this fall in Bucharest

Bucharest General Mayor Gabriela Firea announced on Thursday that beginning this fall the full access travel card program will be implemented in co-operation with metro operator Metrorex and the National Rail Company CFR.

“This full access travel card is for state-owned companies – I am referring to the Bucharest Public City Transport Company RATB, Metrorex, CFR – but also to the companies set up by the administrative-territorial units, and to private companies as well. The novelty is that a traveler from Bucharest or Ilfov can ride the RATB means of transport, the metro, or the microbus of a private company authorized for the Bucharest – Ilfov area on the same pass,” Gabriela Firea said at the seat of the Bucharest City Hall on the occasion of the signing by the Bucharest Mayor, Ilfov County Council head Marian Petrache and 40 mayors of the Ilfov County of the statutes of the Bucharest and Surroundings Intercommunity Metropolitan Transport Development Association.
