JusMin Toader goes to Brussels to discuss judiciary laws with Timmermans. Package of laws, to be adopted in September

Justice Minister Tudorel Toader will go to Brussels next week in order to talk with European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans about the judiciary laws. He stated the Government will adopt the package of laws on September 1, and will then send it to Parliament.

“I’ve scheduled a meeting with Vice President Timmermans next week; we will discuss mainly the directing lines, the principles that concern the package of judiciary laws, the restructuring of the judiciary, for us to then finalise the package of laws,” Toader said at the start of the Government meeting.

The minister said that the Government will be able to adopt this package on September 1 and will then send it to Parliament.

On Sunday evening, PSD President Liviu Dragnea “suggested” that Justice Minister Tudorel Toader should present, this summer, all legislative amendments he has in view for the judiciary laws, so that Parliament will be able to start working “seriously” on them on September 1.
