Most complex market research of IT software industry and services in Romania carried by ARIES Transilvania

A research on the IT market’s situation in Cluj-Napoca as compared to the one in other 8 large urban centres in Romania has been kicked off by ARIES Transilvania (Romanian Association for Electronic Industry and Software in Romania), a press release sent on Monday to AGERPRES reads.

The research aims to analyse the evolution of the industry and the specific needs of the IT companies and staff. The survey project’s goal is to provide an up-to-date image for Cluj-Napoca upon the IT companies’ needs and challenges, by placing the data in local and national context, says the release.

“The research by ARIES Transilvania is at its second annual edition and will have a quantity component, with an online questionnaire applied to a segment of over 800 IT companies from 9 cities: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi, Oradea, Brasov, Constanta, Craiova, and Sibiu, alongside a quality component, following the filling in of over 30 individual interviews with IT companies’ managers and Human Resources’ heads. A special importance will be granted to the analysis of their own, innovating products, to the industry’s trends and the development and innovation opportunities for the companies,” says the ARIES Transilvania communique.

The ARIES Transilvania president, Voicu Oprean mentioned that this survey is to clarify the pressure put upon the universities and local authorities to generate a higher number of qualified jobs for the IT industry.

The research will stretch from July to September 2017 and will include a benchmarking of the financial results of the IT companies in the past 6 years with a view to identify the sector’s economic progress, and the main challenges and issues encountered by the IT companies.

The survey will also target to get certain info on the employees’ structure, the staff’s fluctuation, the training needs, the own products and their innovation degree, as well as on the IT companies’ markets.

The final report of the survey will be available in English, too, as it is to be presented within a public event this fall, and subsequently to be accessed online.
