CCIB: Romania – Egypt economic relations to target industry development

Industrial sectors such as energy, agriculture, tourism and research and development will become the priorities of the Romania – Egypt economic relations, the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) said in a Tuesday release.

“The 5th meeting of the Romania – Egypt Business Council took place recently at the historic seat of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce. The two delegations headed by co-chairs Sorin Dimitriu and Hasan El Shafei respectively, discussed the stage of the economic relations between the two countries. The priorities of the Business Council until December 2018 were also decided on the same occasion. Against this backdrop, industrial sectors, mainly energy, agriculture, tourism, research and development will become priorities,” the CCIB release said.

During the debate, the Egyptian delegation mentioned the visa issue and the resumption of Bucharest – Cairo flights, as both aspects are key to determining the level and amount of economic exchanges.

In this respect, CCIB co-chair Sorin Dimitriu said that the private aeronautics sector could be the solution to this problem, adding that certain steps have already been taken in this regard.

The sixth meeting of the Romania – Egypt Business Council will take place in Cairo in Q1 2018.
