Commemorative ceremony for centenary of Marasesti battle; President Iohannis and PM Tudose in attendance

President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Mihai Tudose  participate on Sunday in a ceremony commemorating the centenary of the Battle of Marasesti.

The event will also be attended by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea.

“One hundred years on from the most important military action of the Romanian Army in the First World War, President Klaus Iohannis honors in Marasesti the memory of those who fought and sacrificed themselves for a powerful and united Romania,” the Presidential Administration mentioned, on Wednesday, in a release.

On the occasion, President Iohannis will decorate the battle flags of the military units that succeeded those fighting 100 years ago, will address the participants, the representatives of public authorities, the diplomatic corps, and will offer a commemorative flag to the Mausoleum of Marasesti.
