Greek school ship HS Rodos visits Constanta Harbour

HS Rodos, the school ship of the Greek Naval Forces, with a crew of 230, will visit Constanta Harbour, between August 6 and 9, a release of the Romanian Naval Forces informs.

According to them, the schedule of the HS Rodos crew includes visits to the Fleet Command and the local authorities, as well as to the Ion Murgescu Military School for Naval Petty Officers, the Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy and the Romanian Marine Museum.

The civilian population will have the opportunity to visit the Greek ship on Tuesday, August 8, between 18:00 – 21:00, a release remitted by the General Staff of the Naval Forces informs.

Wednesday, August 9, HS Rodos will leave Constanta Harbour and will take part in a joint training exercise, together with minesweeper Dimitrie Nicolescu and the Horia Macellariu corvette, in the national and international waters of the Black Sea. The purpose of this exercise is to increase the level of training of the crews on the ships participating.

“The visit of HS Rodos, with a crew of 230, represents a layover in the training march that sees the participation of 116 Greek cadets on board. The ship is a Jason-class and is a landing ship, with a displacement of 4,900 tons, a length of 116 m, a width of 15.3 m and a draft of 3.4 m,” the release also mentions.
