Ministry of Agriculture becomes designated managing authority for operational programme fisheries, maritime affairs

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has been designated as managing authority for operational programme fisheries and maritime affairs, according to a MADR press statement released on Wednesday.

“Having regard to the opinion of the Audit Authority No 61661 / 01.08.2017 on the compliance of the management authority with the criteria set out in Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has been designated by Order of the Minister for European Funds No 5585 / 07.08.2017, managing authority for operational programmme fisheries and maritime affairs. The Ministry of Public Finance has been designated the certification authority for the same operational programme,” says MADR.

MADR, via its Directorate-General Fisheries, the Managing Authority for Operational Programme Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, will be able to request the reimbursement of the eligible spending related to the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), thus contributing to attracting European funds to Romania’s economy.
